Facial muscle relaxant injections are a procedure used at the discretion of our clinician to improve the appearance of "worry lines", "frown lines", "crow's feet", forehead wrinkles and other so-called dynamic wrinkles.
To inactivate these wrinkles, botulinium toxin (Botox / Dysport) is injected into local muscles in selected areas of the face, usually around the forehead or eyes, using a very fine needle in a very precise manner.
After treatment, the overlying skin becomes smoother and unwrinkled whilst untreated facial muscles contract normally, allowing normal facial expression to be unaffected.

Botox injections can also be used to compliment the filling of frown lines with Restylane.
The Treatment
Upon arrival for your appointment you will have a thorough consultation with the medical practitioner who would perform your treatment. This evaluation of your medical history will determine your suitability for this treatment. If you are suitable for Botox use you can receive the injections at the same appointment. You are under no obligation to proceed that day.
The injections are precisely introduced to specific areas of the face with a very fine needle. A local anesthetic cream may be applied to numb the area - in general the procedure causes minimal discomfort.
After care - You will be advised to avoid excessive exercise for 48 hours following injections. One may prefer not to take a flight within 24 hours of injections. It is advisable to refrain from lying down within the first 4 hours post injection.
Post-treatment
Immediately after the treatment there may be some redness, swelling, tenderness or an itching sensation in the treated area. Very occasionally there may be minor bruising. This is a normal result of an injection & should resolve within a week. Avoiding alcohol or aspirin will minimize chance of bruising
How long will it last?
The treatment generally takes up to 14 days to work and lasts between 3-4 months. To maintain the effects follow up treatment will be required
